About TravelIQ

Built inside a working travel agency

TravelIQ didn't start as a product idea. It started as the software one agency needed and couldn't buy: commissions that reconcile, leads that don't go cold, and websites advisors can edit themselves.

The origin

First the agency, then the platform

Most agency software is built from a spec about how agencies probably work. TravelIQ was built inside one, where 'probably' gets corrected by Friday.

It started with an agency's own problems
Ticket To Ride — a real travel agency, at ticket2ride.co — ran on a website it had to email someone to change, a commission spreadsheet, and a shared inbox. The questions were operational, not theoretical: what should this booking pay us, and did it actually arrive? Which request is about to go cold? Why does changing an advisor's bio take a developer?
The software was built inside the business
Every feature was built to answer one of those questions, then used by the advisors it was built for. Commission tracking that reconciles what a booking should pay against what the supplier remitted. A first-contact clock on every lead. Sites advisors edit in place and publish themselves. If a feature didn't survive contact with a real week of agency work, it didn't ship.
The agency's owners partnered into the company
Ticket To Ride's owners are founding partners in TravelIQ, and the platform runs their agency in production today. Theirs is the only customer story on this site — because it's the only customer. When there's a second, we'll tell it with a real name attached.
The rule we build by

Never a number nothing measured. Never an invented customer.

It would be easy to launch a site like this behind a logo wall and a big round advisor count. We build dashboards for a living, so we hold marketing to the dashboard's rule: if nothing measured it, it doesn't render.

That rule is in the product itself — and every page of this site is written under it. What you read here is what the code does.

What that means in practice
  • Unmeasured numbers render as em-dashesAn email open rate the product doesn't track shows as “—” with a note on every dashboard — never as an invented percentage.
  • Testimonials are live reviewsA quote band on an agency's site renders real published reviews. Zero reviews means the band renders nothing.
  • This site follows the same ruleOne named customer, a real speaker behind every quote, and an advisor count that is counted at render time — or left out.
“We ran the agency on a website we couldn't edit, a commission spreadsheet, and a shared inbox. Now every site, lead, trip, and dollar is in one place — I stopped chasing my own business around.”
